ZLog 2012 Mar2Fri

Our 2nd meeting for ZiP02 last night was small (just 5 or 6 of us), but despite that – or maybe because of it – we talked over lots of things & made progress toward shaping & toning the zine which will appear in print in less than a month now. We now have a spreadsheet of all proposed articles with their respective contributors, & I don’t mind saying ZiP02 gives every appearance of kicking a great deal of ass. Features include Code Hero & related Kickstarter campaign (since our web administrator/ZiP co-founder G lives @ the Noiz Nest w/ Alex et al.), live coverage of the BIL Conference (courtesy of Daravinne), and articles on the Electronic Frontier Foundation & digital privacy/freedom & security online (courtesy of Adam, myself & possibly others). I am attending an “Agency Salon” @ Langton Labs on Sunday 3/4, which looks fascinating – at the same time there’s an Ayahuasca Symposium + book release at Noisebridge (starts at 2pm) hosted by the Psychedelic Society of SF & organized by my friend Daniel Jabbour, who is going to contribute an article on the subject to ZiP02. I wish I could be two places at the same time! For now I’ll say no more about the contents of ZiP02, except to remind all readers that the deadline for submissions is Thursday, March 15th (same day as 5 Minutes of Fame), & that we’ll have another planning session @ Noisebridge next Thursday, 3/8, which new contributors & the zine-curious are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to zipzine@riseup.net if it’s your first time visiting Noisebridge.
